History
Hopkinton High School
serves students in grades 9 - 12 and Hopkinton Middle School
serves students in grades 7 - 8 from the villages of Contoocook,
Hopkinton, and West Hopkinton, New Hampshire (USA).
Our three villages have a long history of support for public education, including the first town schoolhouse (1776), the Contoocook Academy (1856) , and the original Hopkinton High School (1903) . The present high school was built in 1953, enlarged in 1961 and 1969, and partially renovated in 1984. A substantial addition and remodeling project was completed in the Fall of 1998. Hopkinton Middle School was created in September of 1989. It is a research-based operation designed to bring age-appropriate programs and practices to bear on the education of early adolescents. Our middle school serves grades 7 and 8, and is housed in the same building as the high school. |
