New NHHEAF Website

The NHHEAF Network Organizations is a nonprofit organization in New Hampshire committed to providing NH students and parents the resources and support they need to successfully pursue higher education. Through the Center for College Planning, we reach over 30,000 students and parents each year with free college planning presentations in NH high schools, one-on-one college planning appointments and college planning trainings and presentations throughout the year.

The www.iamcollegebound.org website was created with a grant from the Department of Education’s College Access Challenge Grant program, aimed at increasing college access and awareness for students throughout the country, especially financially-needy and underrepresented students. The site provides high school students with a one-stop resource for college planning and financial aid information and allows students to earn credits towards great prizes including NH college gear, iPads and cash incentives for college!

HERE’S HOW I AM COLLEGE BOUND WORKS:
Step One: Create a profile for you “Student I.D.” Just by registering you’ll get a small gift to welcome you as a member of I Am College Bound! (and, you’ll earn 50 credits to get started.)

Step Two: Learn everything you can about Degrees in the 603, Scholarships, Applying for Financial Aid and tips for dealing with The Money Situation. Once you learn about the options and feel you’re ready to commit to being “college bound,” Take the Pledge and earn another 100 credits.

Step Three: Read, share, like or tweet the articles, videos, features or events of the site and earn credits! (Not to mention you’ll be helping your friends, family and followers get access to great info and free resources for planning and paying for college in New Hampshire and beyond.) With every credit you earn, you will get closer to having enough credits to be entered in our monthly drawings! Your credits are accumulated and associated with your unique profile. So, if you have enough credits, you can be entered EVERY MONTH until August 2011! (Keep in mind, we keep it challenging. Each month the number of credits needed to be included in the drawing increases…so continue to stay engaged and you’ll have every opportunity to snag a great gift. And (more importantly) you’ll feel confident about making a plan for education beyond high school.)
