Minutes for September 8, 2005

PTA President Julie Morris called the meeting to

order at 6:35.

Motion made by Peter Gauthier to approve June 2,

2005 minutes. Seconded by Mihael Bessette.

Passed

Motion made by Kathy Donohoe to approve budget.

Seconded by Vicki Baronas. Passed

Budget:

No changes to the budget.

PTA is looking for a volunteer with financial

background (does not need to be a CPA) to look over

our books. We do not need someone to audit, only to

review them.

Funding Request:

Request for the 6th grade team for an estimated

amount of $150.00-$200.00 for the purchase of five

or six games each of scrabble, boggle and cribbage

to be used in class. Motion made by Kathy Donohoe

for $200.00. Seconded by Peter Gauthier.

PTA Summer Recap :

Over the summer the PTA board members organized our

Beech Hill Ice Cream Socials for kindergarten

through grade 4. This event was well attended by

all grades. We delivered polished apples to all the

staff in our district. We also sponsored a

kindergarten and new parent coffee time the first

two days of school. We will continue sponsoring a

Coffee with Carozza time on the first Monday of

every month. We would be happy to do the same for

MSS or HHS.

Fundraisers:

Our Cherrydale fundraiser has been sent home with

MSS students and will be going home with HMS

students next week. This fundraiser runs from

September 16th to September 30th. Items will be

delivered in November.

We will be selling frozen pies through Cherrydale in

October to be delivered for Thanksgiving.

Hawk T-shirts will be sold to coincide with a

Christmas delivery.

The spring fundraiser will be our annual Fun Fair.

The kids artwork program may be done this year, not

as a fundraiser but provided at cost.

Family Nights:

Kathy Donohoe will organize a family night at a

Monarchs game for the beginning of November.

Movie Nights:

Our movie license will be renewed again this year.

The movies must be shown at MSS but this is open to

all in our district and community to use.

Telephone Directories:

PTA will be providing telephone directories for the

4th year to HMS and MSS. In order to be included

your directory forms must be in by September 9th.

Halloween Party and Parade:

The date for the annual Halloween party and parade

has been set for October 29th from 1:00 to 3:00.
