VOLUNTEERS


All new volunteers: please join us for our Volunteer Orientation on Wednesday, September 19, 2007, 6:30 PM in the HMS Preschool Room.



HAROLD MARTIN SCHOOL NAMED A BLUE RIBBON SCHOOL ONCE AGAIN!


Volunteers have always been a crucial part of Harold Martin School. Here are a few examples of how volunteers share their time at HMS:
  • Providing one-on-one reading support to students.
  • Leading reading and enrichment groups.
  • Helping to run off papers for teachers.
  • Helping to put together the weekly Parent Flash.
  • Chaperoning class trips.
  • Supporting PTA's facilitation of our Summer "Get to Know Each Other" Parties.
  • Running our publishing center.
  • Running our after school enrichment program Reaching For The Stars.
  • Serving on school committees such as the Author Committee and Playground Committee.
  • Organizing classroom parties.
We also organize a Volunteer Orientation and a Volunteer Appreciation event every year.

Three years ago, we made some changes to our Volunteer Program. First, we are now officially a member of the New Hampshire Partners in Education program which puts us in contention for winning the Blue Ribbon Award for excellence in school volunteering. Second, we hold our volunteer orientation evening which is an annual tradition.
