Jan 25 HBC Meeting

On January 25th, the Hopkinton Budget Committee approved a school budget of $19,622,911 for the 2017/2018 school year. The total including all proposed warrant articles is $19,508,050. This budget will be discussed at the public hearing on Feb. 8th and will be voted at the annual school district meeting on March 11. The budget packet below includes details of the approved budget.

The Hopkinton School Board will be voting on the Budget Committee-approved budget at their regular meeting on February 7th.

The district recently completed testing additional faucets for lead levels. During the second round of testing, one faucet in the Learning Center at Maple Street School exceeded the lead level threshold and was immediately removed from service until it could be remediated.

In February 2018, the State of New Hampshire adopted Senate Bill 247 "Preventing Childhood LeadPoisoning from Paint and Water." This bill requires that by July 1, 2019, all schools and licensedchildcare facilities in the state complete testing for lead in drinking water at all locations where water isavailable for consumption by children.
