Location- The Absolute Location of Cardigan Mountain is 43˚38”58.07” N latitude and 71˚ 54”51.12” W longitude. For the Relative Location of Cardigan Mountain is that the mountain is on the border of Orange and Alexandria. When we were traveling to the lodge we passed through the towns of Bristol and Hopkinton NH.

Description- In Physical terms, Mount Cardigan has a bare rock top due to a fire that happened a while ago. It has an assortment of Beach Trees, Striped Maple, and White Birch. It also has a wide variety of animals like chipmunks, birds, and bears. In Cultural terms Cardigan Mountain has a fire tower, it has the AMC lodge, and it has man made trails.

What I learned- At Environmental Camp I learned about water and the way water is livable by insects. The reason insects live in water is due the dissolved oxygen that the water picks up when it splashes and makes bubbles. I also learned that polyester and other waterproof clothing are more suitable in camping situations  than cotton. Cotton loses 80% of its insulation when it gets wet. I also learned about contour lines and maps. Contour lines are lines on a map that show the height of slopes and when they’re close together, it means the slop is really steep but when they’re far apart, the slop isn’t that steep. In our groups we were able to draw a mp with contour lines, mine is on the top.
