On June 19, our grde is going to Odiorne point. The part of Odiorne that we will be at is a tidal pool area with lobsters, starfish, and other tidal pool lifeforms. In the picture below, the area with the picnic table and umbrella is where we will eat our lunch and do other things.
The ground in the picture is split up into 4 different parts. There is a black, white, brown, and red zone.
THE BLACK ZONE is filled with what look like black rocks. They are actualy white rocks that are coverd with cyano bacteria.
THE WHITE ZONE is filled with the same "black" rocks but are coverd in little white creatures called barnacles. Barnacles are little creatures that, when they are born, they go around the ocean freely. But eentualy the just decide to stick their heads to rocks and stay there the rest of their life.
THE BROWN ZONE is filled with two types of seaweed. One is Rockweed and the other is knotted wrack. Rockweed has little air bladders on the ends of each string. knotted wrack does not.
THE RED ZONE is filled with Irish Moss. Which looks like red seaweed.
