1. Describe the trip to Odiorne Point.

On June 19, the Hopkinton 7th grade is going to Odiorne Point in Plymouth, New Hampshire. What I can't wait for is sticking my hands in the tidal pools and running up and down the coast of the ocean. What I expect to see is the layers of the different rock. I can't wait to see what type of things are living in the tidal pool(s). I do expect to see very little things like snails and barnacles. Maybe starfish, regular fish, crab, and a big maybe for lobsters.

2. Name and describe the 4 tidal zones at Odiorne Point. Mention what is found in each zone.

The four zones at Odiorne Point are:

1. The dry zone - which never gets wet.

2. The black zone - which is black because of cyanobacteria and that layer gets some water and some splashing.

3. The white zone - which has white spots because of barnacles. This The brown zone - which has algae that is green but the rock is a little brownish. This layer gets a little wet but more than the black zone.

4. The red zone - which is red because of algae called Irish Weed.
