Middle School Scholar Leader Awards

Two of our 8th grade students have been honored for their outstanding attitude, effort, and service toward our school community.  Together with the New Hampshire Association for Middle Level Education and the New England League of Middle Schools, our middle school staff have recognized Megan Hemmerlein and Matthew French as our Scholar Leader Award Recipients.

Middle schools across the state identify two of their outstanding students who demonstrate the characteristics that exemplify their school ideals.  While this was a challenging task, our team of teachers has identified Megan and Matthew as those students.

All of New Hampshire’s Scholar Leaders were honored together at a dinner on June 3rd, 2010 at the Center of New Hampshire (Radisson Hotel) in Manchester NH.  Parents and guests joined us for the celebration, along with appearences by Govenor John Lynch and the Education  Commissioner Virginia Barry.   I was honored to be involved with these two wonderful children who exemplify the best of what it means to be a Hopkinton Middle School Student.

State Champions!

I wanted to let you know how awesome our weekend was and what a   great bunch of kids we have. Each athlete competed in four events   and we had Zach Calley win Gold Medals in all four of his. Peter   England won a Gold, 2 Silver and 4th place in his, Charlie Bartlett   won a Gold, 2 Silver, and a Bronze, and Kendra Arsenault won a  Gold,  2 Silver and a Bronze in her events. Emily and Duncan Calder  who  were part of the unified relay race both won Gold medals and  Alison Bartlett and Dorothy England who were also part of a relay  team with  their brothers won Bronze medals. The kids were well  behaved and  respectful and had the experience of their life. Their  parents were  awed by what they saw and seeing their children win  medals was  something great. Zach, Charlie, and Peter are now in  the running to  compete in the 2011 World Games in Greece if  their name is chosen.  Spread the word of this  AWESOME weekend as these kids  are  Hawks State Champions. – Coach Robin
