IN ATTENDANCE:
School Board: Chairman: David Luneau, Vice Chairman: Elizabeth Durant, Louis Josephson, William Jones
Administration: Superintendent: Steven Chamberlin, Michelle Clark, Business Administrator
CALL TO ORDER AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
Mr. Luneau called the meeting to order at 7:35am; Jean Eaton led the Pledge of Allegiance.
SUPERINTENDENT ADDITIONS/DELETIONS TO AGENDA:
Nonpublic session deleted; amend Action Item 15 to include (0.67)
CORRESPONDENCE:
Letter from Representative Gary Richardson regarding information from the State of NH.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Motion to approve the minutes of June 1, 2010 was made by Mr. Josephson, seconded by Mr. Jones, all in favor, minutes carry.
Motion to approve the minutes of June14, 2010 was made by Mr. Josephson, seconded by Ms. Durant and amended by David Luneau – page 2195, line 16: all in favor, minutes carry as amended.
they are not a managerial board, they are fundamentally a policy board selectmen are a managerial board and the school board is fundamentally a policy board.
Motion to approve the minutes of June 22, 2010 was made by Ms. Durant, seconded by Mr. Jones, all in favor, minutes carry.

COMMENTS FROM THE HOPKINTON SCHOOL BOARD
Ms. Durant thanked everyone at the SAU for keeping everything running smoothly and for keeping her in the loop of communication.
Mr. Josephson stated he read in the paper the Senate passed a 21 billion dollar jobs bill for school funding to keep teachers in positions and to help states with their school education budgets. Mr. Chamberlin stated he would monitor this closely.
ITEMS FOR SCHOOL BOARD DISCUSSION

iv. Support Staff Call Back Procedure
Mr. Chamberlin gave an overview of the positions presented.
Mr. Luneau asked if the reading position contract specified that some of the time is tied to ARRA funding and may go away. Mr. Chamberlin stated that the candidate’s contract is a one-year contract and states condition on funding. He stated he has had this discussion with the candidate. Mr. Luneau stated having that discussion with the candidate and documenting it on the contract is important.
Mr. Chamberlin stated the only other position open, besides schedule b coaching, is for a nurse assistant.

11. The Hopkinton School Board approve the Superintendent’s nomination of Elizabeth Cannon, Reading Teacher, Harold Martin School, 0.6, 2010-2011 school year.
A motion was made by Ms. Durant, seconded by Mr. Josephson, motion carries, all in favor, not opposed.
12. The Hopkinton School Board approve the Superintendent’s nomination of Stephen Desmarais, Harold Martin School Night Custodian, effective August 16, 2010, 2010-2011 school year.
A motion was made by Mr. Jones, seconded by Ms. Durant, motion carries, all in favor, not opposed.
13. The Hopkinton School Board approve the Superintendent’s recommendation to accept, Hopkinton Middle School Instructional Assistant, Laura Stewart’s resignation, effective July 27, 2010.
A motion was made by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Josephson, motion carries, all in favor, not opposed.
14. The Hopkinton School Board approve the Superintendent’s nomination of Kim Sink, Student Specific Instructional Assistant/Instructional Assistant, Maple Street School, 2010-2011 school year.
A motion was made by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Josephson, motion carries, all in favor, not opposed.
15. The Hopkinton School Board approve the Superintendent’s nomination of Stacey Price, Office Manager Assistant/Special Education Clerical, Maple Street School, 0.67 position, 2010-2011 school year.
A motion was made by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Josephson, motion carries, all in favor, not opposed.
16. The Hopkinton School Board approve the Superintendent’s nomination of Lary Hodgdon, Co-Student Council Advisor, Schedule b position, Hopkinton Middle School, 2010-2011 school year.
A motion was made by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Josephson, motion carries, all in favor, not opposed.
17. The Hopkinton School Board approve the Superintendent’s nomination of Alicia Cross, Co-Student Council Advisor, Schedule b position, Middle School, 2010-2011 school year.
A motion was made by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Josephson, motion carries, all in favor, not opposed.
18. The Hopkinton School Board approve the Superintendent’s nomination of Robin O’Dougherty, Girls Junior Varsity Soccer Coach, Hopkinton High School, 2010-2011 school year.
A motion was made by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Josephson, motion carries, all in favor, not opposed.
