COMMENTS FROM THE HOPKINTON SCHOOL BOARD AND ADMINISTRATION
Mr. Luneau stated the purpose of the meeting was to gather public input on the proposed withdrawal from the Hopkinton School District School Building Repair and Maintenance Expendable Trust Fund for carpet at Harold Martin School in the amount of $5517. He stated the Board would be voting to make a withdrawal at tonight’s school board meeting.
Mr. Chamberlin gave an overview of the discussion at the August 15, 2011, school board meeting regarding the purchase of the carpet at Harold Martin School. He stated that in the spring of 2010, the district had the building carpets assessed and it was determined that the carpet at Harold Martin School, in the student services area (rooms 108, 110, 112), was a safety hazard.
Mr. Donahue stated that it is an appropriate use of the Hopkinton School District School Building Repair and Maintenance Expendable Trust Fund.
Mr. Luneau agrees that it is an appropriate use of the funds. He added that typically it is used for higher ticket items, but with an extremely tight budget it is the right way to move forward.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting adjourned at 5:21pm
Respectfully submitted,
Jean Eaton
