Open Enrollment Guidelines and Application 2026–2027

The Hopkinton School District is accepting applications for Open Enrollment for the 2026–2027 school year in accordance with New Hampshire RSA 194-D.

Open Enrollment allows eligible students who reside outside the Hopkinton School District to apply for admission to district schools, subject to available capacity, eligibility requirements, and the provisions of RSA 194-D.

For the 2026–2027 school year, the Hopkinton School District has determined that one (1) open enrollment seat is available for students entering grades 9–12 at Hopkinton Middle High School.

If the number of eligible applications exceeds the number of available seats, students will be selected through a random lottery process in accordance with RSA 194-D. Applicants not selected in the lottery, if one is required, will be placed on a waitlist for the 2026–2027 school year.

Students currently enrolled through Open Enrollment who remain eligible and intend to continue enrollment will retain their placement and will not be required to participate in a lottery in future years.

Transportation is the responsibility of the parent or guardian unless otherwise required by law.

Eligibility & Residency Requirements

Under RSA 194-D, students may only participate in Open Enrollment if their resident school district permits students to transfer out through the Open Enrollment program.

Before submitting an application, families are encouraged to verify whether their resident district allows students to participate in Open Enrollment.
